Our Story
Lightgiver Performance Coaching was established by Jacob Cook in 2024, but has been in development for many years prior. Through his athletic and coaching career Jacob found 3 major themes: success, opportunity, and hope.
Success
While on the track team at Ashland Jacob found his way to becoming a 2 time national champion, 9 time All-American, as well as Academic All-American. He took this success to coach others to All-American status while working on a Master’s Degree in Counseling and Human Development.
Opportunity
Though he experienced success in his own athletic career, he also came up against mindsets that held him back from his true potential. His goals were set higher and were held back by limiting beliefs. Jacob decided to change these moments from “failures” to “opportunity”. The opportunity to pass knowledge along.
Hope
While at Ashland Jacob was able to learn a lot from head coach and 4 time Olympian Jud Logan. Coach Logan focused on investing in his athletes by giving them encouragement and inspiring hope, or what he would call being a lightgiver. With this in mind, Lightgiver Performance Coaching looks to give that same investment, encouragement, and hope in those it works with.
From Me to We
Jacob Cook is a national champion, counselor, and coach. He continues learning how we can be our best selves and shares that knowledge with others so they can perform at their best. He is turning a focus on the “me” to a focus on “we”. Our communities are strongest when we each focus on our part.
